Piacere dei Traversi<\/h1>\n

The consort<\/strong> is a group of instruments of the same family and was, during the Renaissance and until the mid-17th century, the ideal way to perform music in a “domestic” version<\/strong>, that is, with few performers.<\/p>\n

When a singer is added to a consort of instruments, the result is a faithful, small-scale interpretation of the essence of the original vocal composition: the music and the text<\/strong>. This formation, known in England as consort song<\/strong>, was very popular at the time and is the one that Piacere dei Traversi has adopted to carry out its versatile and delicate interpretations, proud to be one of the few professional ensembles<\/strong> in Spain and Europe dedicated to this unique instrumental combination.<\/p>\n

Formed entirely by women, Piacere dei Traversi has as one of its hallmarks the defense of the role of women in the history of music and art<\/strong>, that is present in many of its concert programs, dedicated to outstanding female creators.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the relationship between music and literature<\/strong> is another constant in the projects of Piacere dei Traversi, which often include literary fragments recited together with music belonging to its historical context.<\/p>\n

Biography<\/h1>\n

Since its foundation in 2011, Piacere dei Traversi has performed in numerous venues throughout Spain, and has been selected by Acci\u00f3n Cultural Espa\u00f1ola to perform in the cultural program of the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020.<\/p>\n

Piacere dei Traversi has been awarded in the GEMA Awards (Association of Spanish Early Music Groups) as the Best Renaissance Music Group 2021.<\/p>\n

Carmen Botella Galbis
<\/b><\/h1>\n

Soprano<\/h2>\n

Carmen Botella specializes in performing Renaissance and Baroque music. She completed her singing studies at the <\/span>Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik<\/span><\/i> in Vienna after graduating with distinction at the Valencia Conservatoire. She completed a Master\u2019s degree in Historical singing at the <\/span>Escola Superior de M\u00fasica de Catalunya<\/span><\/i> (Barcelona). She has taken courses and masterclasses in early music performance with many prestigious musicians.<\/span><\/p>\n

She works regularly with many early music ensembles in Spain and abroad, with numerous concerts and CD recordings. She has participated in a large number of early and religious music festivals in Spain and in many European countries, including Great Britain, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, France and Switzerland. She has recorded for the Spanish National Radio (RNE), Austrian radio-television (ORF) and Italian radio-television (RAI).<\/span><\/p>\n

She has a degree in Hispanic studies from the University of Valencia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Laura Palomar Salvador<\/b><\/h1>\n

Renaissance transverse flute<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Laura Palomar completed a Bachelor and a Masters in the flute at the Valencia Conservatoire and the <\/span>Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik<\/span><\/i> in Karlsruhe, respectively. She obtained a Bachelor in Traverso at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Her main teachers include Renate Greiss-Armin and Kersten McCall on modern flute, and Kate Clark and Marc Hanta\u00ef on historical flutes. She was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain and the period instrument youth orchestras <\/span>Jeune Orchestre Atlantiqu<\/span><\/i>e and <\/span>NJO- Orchestra of the 19th Century<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is a principal member of <\/span>Academia de las Luces<\/span><\/i>, an ensemble dedicated to the Classical and Romantic repertoire, and <\/span>Piacere dei traversi<\/span><\/i>, a Renaissance consort of traverso flutes and soprano. She has performed as a soloist at the <\/span>Auditorio Nacional in Madrid<\/span><\/i> and in traverso recitals in Valencia. She has been a guest artist with <\/span>The Northern Consort<\/span><\/i> (Netherlands), <\/span>Orquestra Montsalvat<\/span><\/i> (Barcelona) and <\/span>Valencia Original Art<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

She has been flute teacher at the <\/span>Conservatorio Superior de M\u00fasica<\/span><\/i> in C\u00f3rdoba and in Ja\u00e9n (Spain).<\/span><\/p>\n

Marisa Esparza Regal

Renaissance transverse flute<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After obtaining a Bachelor in the flute at the <\/span>Joaqu\u00edn Rodrigo<\/span><\/i> Conservatoire in Valencia, she specialized in the traverso with Wilbert Hazelzet at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She has taught baroque music performance courses in Minas Gerais (Brazil) Pe\u00f1\u00edscola and at the Universities of Valencia and Alicante. As artistic director and flautist of the <\/span>Estil Concertant <\/span><\/i>ensemble, she has performed concerts and made recordings of Spanish music from the 18th century in particular. As a soloist she has recorded: <\/span>Traverso y arpa barroca – Europa Mediterr\u00e1nea<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Triosonatas para dos traversos y bajo continuo de J. Pla<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Tr\u00edos y divertimentos de J. Haydn<\/span><\/i>. She is a member of the Renaissance consort <\/span>Piacere dei Traversi<\/span><\/i>. Currently she teaches traverso at the <\/span>Conservatorio Superior de M\u00fasica<\/span><\/i> in Castell\u00f3n (Spain).<\/span><\/p>\n
